PARADEISOS was initially inspired by Italo Calvino’s novel Invisible Cities and its relationship to my experience of being raised in a very large, sprawling and crowded metropolis – a place that in my mind I often imagined as some massive body of water. The work attempts to construct landscapes by altering the already printed photographic images in order to create my own private paradises where desolation, de-population and vastness form the central elements.
